A Classroom Aide/Para is responsible for providing support to the classroom teacher by assisting with the needs of the students, activities and cleaning/disinfecting the classroom. Classroom aides/paras are responsible for checking in/checking out students in Procare and substituting for the classroom teacher when they are absent.

General responsibilities: Understanding, following, and overseeing compliance relevant to the organization; ensuring that the organization is in compliance with the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), state rules and regulations for Part B and C programs; communicating with government agencies to ensure the organization is in compliance with special education laws, rules, regulations, and more. 

BS/BA degree in education or related field and a minimum of three to five years as educational leader, program management and/or supervision of similar programs required.
