Preschool Teacher or Paraprofessional

The preschool teacher will plan, direct, manage, and oversee the activities and operation of their respective early childhood classroom. The teacher in this position is responsible for meeting performance standards using their experience in the field to provide quality education to all children on behalf of Sweetwater County Child Developmental Center. Basic Qualifications Include: An Associate’s Degree from an accredited college or university. A Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, Family and Child Development, Elementary Education, or a related field is preferred but not required. Experience with toddlers and/or preschool students is preferred but not required. We will train the right candidate! This position will begin in January 2023 through the remainder of the school year with opportunity to return for the 23/24 school year.Work days are based on a school year calendar similar to the school district and the hours Monday through Friday day shifts. Pay depends on experience, degrees, certifications and endorsements.

Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) or SLP-A (Full or Part Time)

The Speech/Language Pathologist (SLP) is responsible for the planning and execution of the speech and language program for the SCCDC, as well as program records, relationship management with internal and external partners, and training of parents and of other staff. The SCCDC serves the birth through age 5 population of Sweetwater County. This is a full-time salary exempt position. Applicants interested in part-time (29 hours or less) will also be accepted and considered. Salary depends on education, experience, and other early childhood/special education credentials. The position will serve the populations of Rock Springs, Green River and other Sweetwater County locations as necessary based on the needs of the children in need of services. 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: 

Program Management-plan and execute day-to-day program operations in accordance with applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations, as well as those promulgated by the region's governing board and the Executive Director. Collaborate with the Executive Director, Special Education Coordinator, Special Education Teachers, Therapists, external agencies, and other professionals to ensure the level of educational services meet family and center goals. Conduct evaluations pertinent to overall communication, oral motor and dysphagia skills. Provide direct and/or indirect therapy to individual or groups of children with identified communication needs, feeding and aural rehab needs. Maintain up to date knowledge of current developments in the speech/language technology and early childhood development fields by reading, collaborating with colleagues, and attending training. 

Position Requirements: • Formal Education and Certification Minimum of M.S. or Speech Pathology • Current State of Wyoming Professional Teaching Standards Board Certificate in Speech Pathology and/or Speech Pathology license from the State of Wyoming Board of Speech Pathology and Audiology • Accreditation from the American Speech Language Hearing Association Certification of Clinical Competence (CCC) preferred • Safe driving record 

This position is for the 23-24 school year but we are interested in hiring someone this school year to assist with our immediate needs as well. 

SLP-Assistants are welcome to apply. We will consider candidates who are already certified SLPAs and have met all of the Wyoming Support Personnel requirements of the Department of Education for Speech Pathology Assistants.

Substitute Teacher/Paraprofessional

Substitute teachers will be responsible to the teacher, teachers aide, or paraprofessional in the assigned classroom where he/she is substituting for another teacher's aide, paraprofessional, or teacher. The substitute will carry out programs and classroom activities for children according to the lesson plans previously put into place by the classroom teacher. The schedule will be 8:15-4:15 and preschool classes are Mon, Tues, Wed, and Thurs. There is no guarantee of specific days or schedules. This is an on-call position based on the needs of the center and could be in either Rock Springs or Green River unless special arrangements have been made with the Center Principal. Substitutes should be certified by PTSB and should have previously been cleared through the Wyoming Central Registry and DCI Fingerprinting. In some situations the SCCDC will provide the time for these background screenings to take place upon hire but we prefer to have them in place already.

Crossing Guard/Parking Lot Safety Attendant

The SCCDC is looking for an individual to join our team to aid in our commitment to the safety of students, staff, and families arriving and leaving from our Rock Springs school parking lot during our morning and afternoon session drop off and pick up times. The Crossing Guard will work approximately 10-12 hours per week, Monday through Thursday, during the regular school year on a split shift schedule. This individual will assist children and parents crossing the parking lot to and from the building, will help to direct traffic through the parking lot and enforce parking rules and procedures as established by the SCCDC. The Crossing Guard will recognize and communicate potentially dangerous traffic situations and hazards in the parking lot.
