Job Opportunities at Sweetwater Child Development Center:


         

Early Childhood Teacher 

Beginning in August 2019.  The Early Childhood Teacher will plan, direct, manage, and oversee the activities and operation of the respective Early Childhood classroom (ages 3-4 or 4-5). The teacher in this position is responsible for meeting the performance standards using their experience in the field to provide quality education to all children on behalf of Sweetwater County Child Development Center 

  This position can be  full-time or a part-time .  This position might be Rock Springs or it might be Green River   

Basic Qualifications Include:  

Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, Family and Child Development,  Elementary Education, or a related field. 

Be certified in through PTSB in the state of Wyoming.

Within three years this teacher will need to complete his/her Early Childhood Special Education Endorsement (ECSE).  

This position and pays between $41,200 and $60,000 depending on education and experience.

Physical Therapy Assistant 


The Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) is responsible for assisting the Physical Therapist in the provision of a comprehensive physical therapy program to children from birth through age five while adhering to Rules and Regulations Governing Services to Children with Disabilities. This includes including screening, assessment, and intervention.

This is a part-time position and pays between $22-$31/hour.    The position will be houses in Green River, but will work in both Green River and Rock Springs.   This position will begin in August.   

Position Requirements:      

·    Associates degree or certified program in Physical Therapy Assistant

·    Wyoming State Board of Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) licensure

Speech/Language Pathologist 

The SLP is responsible for the planning and execution of the speech and language program for the SCCDC (birth to five), as well as program records, relationship management with internal and external partners, and training of parents and of other staff.  This position will be housed in Rock Springs, but some work might be required in Green River.   We might also need a part-time SLP to help with Outreach.   This is an exempt position and will range from $44,000-$69,000 annually for FT.   The position will begin in August 2019.

Executive Director

The Executive Director supervises, manages and administers all functions of the organization.  He/she provides a comprehensive, coordinated early childhood/child care and special education/early intervention program in compliance with the goals and objectives of the Sweetwater County Child Developmental Center (SCCDC) as well as state and federal rules and regulations pertaining to the services provided.  The Executive Director will ensure that the Board of Directors is fully informed of all aspects of the organization.  This is an exempt contracted position under the Federal Fair Labor Standards Act. 

Formal Education and Certification

  • Certificate by the Wyoming Department of Education in one of the following areas: Early Childhood Special Education, Special Education, Elementary Education, or Early Childhood Education. 
  • Master’s degree in Educational Administration, an Educational Leadership area, Business Administration or a related eductional field.  

Knowledge and Experience

·       Knowledge of Public Special Education Law (I.D.E.A.) and the Wyoming Department of Special Education Chapter 7 Services for Children with Disabilities.

·       5 or more years' practical experience in an early childhood or elementary educational field.

·      3-5 years of experience in an management or an administrtive position. 

·       Experience with fiscal management, fund-raising, grant preparation and administration, and staff supervision.
